After a great night on the foothills of the Calbuco volcano we jumped in our van and have been driving south.
One ferry ride to cross el Estuario de Reloncavi and we made it to Hornopiren. A bit more of driving and the group reached Cholgo on the Comau fjord. This is where we spend a bunch of time trying to fit everything in the kayaks and reduce as much our gear as we can. By the way everything went well and it looks like we did not forget anything on the beach.
The paddling today was short but we started late. Reward after such a long day is The Isla Llancahue, the comfortable hotel and the hotsprings pools overlooking the ocean.
The group made it perfectly, everybody outfitted in tandem expedition sea kayaks, the choice of these tandem boats offers us more tracking and the best option for novice sea kayakers, this way we are sure we will make the miles well.
Overnight at the hotel and tomorrow (monday) we start crossing the fjord towards Quintupeu fjord.
